The Bamboo Briefcase is an attractive alternative to boring leather or plastic attaché briefcase. Using a type of bamboo called Moso bamboo, which is sustainably grown in the highlands of central China, the bamboo briefcase is inherently stronger than steel. Moso bamboo has a tensile strength of 28,000 lbs per square inch, which is 5,000lbs more than that of steel! Strong stuff!
The briefcase only weighs 5.5lbs (2.5kg), giving you the strength without the additional weight. The bamboo is naturally water-resistant, meaning no chemicals are needed to waterproof the case. The interior of the briefcase is lined with a soft suede, with the usual two file pockets, three penholders, and a mobile phone holder. The case is secured using two combination locks, each with 3 combination dials.
Certainly more expensive than most other briefcases, however, it will certainly stand out in any busy city. The bamboo case is available for $199.95.
